Olympus, 60 Routes
Olympus, the wonderful highest mountain in Greece, is best explored on foot. The AZ hiking guide "Olympus, 60 routes" presents the 60 most attractive, marked and high-altitude hiking trails of the great mountain.
The selection includes trails for every level of fitness and for every weather: hiking trails to the peaks, shelters and all the main mountain crossings. Numerous trails can be combined with the many cultural, religious and natural treasures of the mythical mountain.
The trail suggestions have accurate route descriptions, detailed hiking maps with the route of the trail drawn in and meaningful elevation profiles. GPS data are also available for download. The AZ hiking guide "Olympus, 60 routes" is a reliable companion for hiking Greece most famous mountain range.
The authors, the civil engineer Triantaphyllos Adamakopoulos and the forestry scientist Katerina Zagaretou approached us to design their brand identity and to design their first hiking guide "Olympus, 60 routes". This challenging project required close collaboration with the client to piece together a photography database, a map database, route descriptions before turning these into book spreads. This information, along with multiple charts, dozens of processed images, tables and additional information about Olympus mountain, was then laid out in colour coded guide sections. Our team designed a robust and stylistic custom template allowing easy route browsing in a pocket sized book. The final 264 pages feature not only 60 unique routes but also extended information about Olympus geography, geology, hydrography, vegetation, flora, fauna and monuments.
